Hello Family and Friends!

Thank you for supporting Arthritis Foundation, New York Chapter. Since I did not get picked for the Marathon lottery this year, I have decided to run the 2009 NYC Marathon for charity.

I chose the Arthritis Foundation as the charity I want to support because I am currently doing my PhD research in the Cartilage Tissue Engineering Lab at UCSD, where we focus on the repair and regeneration of articular cartilage. We study various joint injuries and how these injuries may lead to osteoarthritis, with the ultimate goal of improving clinical treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of arthritis and related diseases.

I am very excited to be running this year's NYC Marathon while supporting Let's Move Together®, a nationwide movement led by the Arthritis Foundation that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis. This is my first marathon, so I thank you in advance for helping me to fulfill my goal while supporting a great cause!
